David E Axelson, PhD, has been involved with multivariate / chemometric data analysis
in medical and materials studies for more than 20 years, including the development
of customized computer programs.
He is the sole author of a previous book: "Solid State Nuclear Magnetic Resonance of
Fossil Fuels :An Experimental Approach", Multiscience Publishers Ltd, Montreal,
Quebec, 226 pp, (1985) ISBN 0-919868-25-8.
He has made contributions to 13 additional books, more than 100 conference presentations,
and published about 80 papers in refereed journals, encompassing numerous aspects of solid
state and solution NMR, and MRI investigations in both materials and clinical studies.
He has worked with SINTEF, Scandinavia's largest private contract research
organization, in various capacities since 1994, involved in metabonomic / metabolomic
data analyses in the MR Center, NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and
Technology), Faculty of Medicine, Department of Circulation and Imaging MR Cancer
Group, Trondheim, Norway.

As well, he works as a senior consultant for the private research and development organization,
SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture, also in Trondheim, Norway.
